Support - Silver Study Society

In 2027, we’ll celebrate our 10-year anniversary. To mark that milestone, the board hopes to donate a silver item to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston by the Silver Study Society. Right now, we have just over $3,000 in designated funds for a donation. The fee for our Holiday Tea will be added to that fund—but it’s not the only way to contribute. This Donation page includes a place where members can designate gifts specifically for silver acquisitions. Whether by check or online, you can choose to support our 10-year gift to Bayou Bend directly. And just to note—because we’re a 501(c)(3), any donation you make is tax deductible, which is a lovely bonus for those with the giving spirit.

Membership dues fund our primary objective of providing educational programming and we are grateful for your support through your membership in the Silver Study Society.

By virtue of the additional generosity of many of our members, we have been able to elevate programming, bringing in presenters from all over the country and even some international speakers. In addition to the travel costs and honorariums paid, we have technology and facility expenses associated with those speakers, and we are building a website that will benefit our membership in many ways.

We also make regular donations of books about silver, in honor of Past Presidents of the Silver Study Society, to the Kitty King Powell Library and Study Center at Bayou Bend. Another goal is to establish an acquisitions fund for acquiring silver for the collections at Rienzi and Bayou Bend.
